The launch of the new product “Colto”and the restyling of the main line labels.

Pietro Coricelli brings a preview on his two latest innovations at Sial Paris 2016,

the main event of the year in food market.

A definite fruity taste, telling a story of expertise and olive oil culture handed down through generations since 1939. An extra virgin olive oil enclosing all the charcteristics of a great ripe fruity extra virgin olive oil, ideal to dress traditional dishes as well as enriching delicate flavours, making them shine without being outshone. These are the key characteristics of “Colto“, the extra virgin olive oil that Pietro Coricelli is showing a preview of on October 16th at Sial Paris, the most importante wordwide food show of the year.

The new design centers on the golden label for all the products in the main line “I Classici” – Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 100% Italiano Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Colto Extra Virgin Olive Oil, confers to the bottle a more modern and distinctive look on the shelves and the new logo with olives tells what Coricelli do best.

SIAL 2016 is also the occasion to show to the international guests of Paris the novelties of the last months, resulting from the always-active business approach of the third generation of Coricelli family that is leading the company. Like the Family Tales, the new strategic frame that tells the passionate spirit that Pietro, the founder, had handed down to the son Antonio and to the four nephews of the third generation, until to all the employees that makes Pietro Coricelli company great.

This led to the restyling of the website (www.coricelli.com) with an original storytelling, and it includes Casa Coricelli, the new e-commerce section offering a selected and exclusive Pietro Coricelli products: from the most delicious extra virgin olive oil to creative cooking oils such as the flavoured oils, from vinegars, pasta, pasta suces and tomatoes to the new special Ethnos Line, a selection of cold pressed virgin organic oils.

SIAL 2016 is the most important international exhibition for food market, with more than 160 thousand visitators from all over the world, representing a real business platform for the seven thousand exhibitor that will be in Paris coming from over 100 countries.

PIETRO CORICELLI for WORLD FOOD in MOSCOW

Pietro Coricelli company will be in Moscow for the 25th edition of International Food Exhibition WorldFood, being held from 12th September to the 15th September 2016 at the Expocentre in Moscow, Russia.

Over the last 20 years, WorldFood Moscow has grown to become a major meeting place for the food and drinks industry and a vibrant source of products for the Russian market. In the last edition, more than 30 000 of wholesalers and retailers visited the exhibition. This event showcases products like covers all the sectors of the food industry, so for the convenience of the exhibitors and visitors,  it is divided into twelve specialized sectors.

Pietro Coricelli company will be there as part of  a national collective organized by the ICE-Agency, with an exhibition space reserved for Italian companies.

FHC China, which will take place between the 11th and 13th November in Shanghai for the 19th edition, will host the greatest importers and exporters of food industry. It is the right place to create new partnership in the Chinese market and all over the world.

The last edition saw the highest presence ever, confirming FHC China as the event of the year for Chinese restaurateurs, hotel managers and retailers. The forecast for this year indicates the presence of 70 countries and more than 2500 exhibitors.

PRESS RELEASE 10 November, 2015

With reference to the articles published today by a few local and national newspapers reporting about the surveys conducted by the Public Prosecutor of Torino following to the analysis published from the Consumers’ Magazine “Il Test” on May 2015, Pietro Coricelli S.p.A. deems appropriate to clarify the following:

–          The analysis carried out firstly by the Magazine “Il Test” and secondly by the N.A.S. of Torino (Division for the Prevention of the Adulteration of Food and Drink), commissioned by the Public Prosecutor’s office, are exclusively based on a tasting test (panel test);  the aforementioned test, although carried out by professional tasters, is nowadays widely considered not sufficient to evaluate the quality of an olive oil, being a subjective analysis method, not repeatable and not reproducible.

–          The results of the analysis published by the magazine “Il Test” had already been protested by our company and are now the object of a lawsuit filed by the Public Prosecutor’s office of Spoleto. As further proof of the fact that the tasting test is scarcely reliable, we note that the initial results of “Il Test” were referring to nine olive oil producers, two of which are no longer mentioned in the statement from the Public Prosecutor, reported by the press.

–          The protested batch, before being sold on the market, had been carefully analyzed by the company as well as by independent recognized laboratories and all the analysis confirmed their compliance to the quality standards.

That being stated, Pietro Coricelli S.p.A. strongly rejects the claim, particularly where the press wrongly reports that the company would have sold “olive oil” as “extra virgin olive oil”. We would like to underline that this claim is not even objected by the Public Prosecutor of Torino, which is only claiming that the oil is “virgin” instead of “extra virgin”. On this last issue the company is evaluating with its legal staff the possibility of bringing an action against the newspapers, reserving the right to seek compensation for the damages suffered.

As regards to the contestations moved by the Public Prosecutor of Torino, the company, according to the legal procedures, will submit all the appropriate counter-analysis, which will confirm that its behavior was fair and correct.

On the other hand, we do hope that the final outcome of this case, will deserve the same media coverage as its beginning.
